A Series I’m Attempting

Mother’s Day… a mixed bag

I thought this blog post “An Open Letter to Pastors: a non-mom speaks about Mother’s Day” was helpful at recognizing that Mother’s Day is much an occasion for mourning as honoring and celebrating.  Interestingly enough, I referenced how difficult Mother’s Day can be for many people in my sermon yesterday on Psalm 77.  However, the sermon deals more broadly with mourning/grieving/suffering in general.
