On April 15, 1912 the “unsinkable” Titanic sank, leaving nearly 1500 people to lose their lives in the frigid waters of the north Atlantic. Of the sixteen lifeboats on board, many of which were not filled to their capacity, it is reported that only one returned to the spot where the ship was sinking to pick up those who were perishing. That lifeboat was boat 14. BOAT14 is about returning to the forgotten and to the drowning. BOAT14 is not about trying to spread a power-hungry religion. BOAT14 is about someone in a lifeboat that they did not make themselves seeking to draw the perishing out of the dark waters in which they are drowning.
My name is Kirk Blankenship and I invite you to leave your harbors of safety and join the efforts to reach the perishing with the gospel of Jesus Christ. You’ll probably get cold and wet and those on board the lifeboat aren’t always very “sea-worthy”, but there is no other way a drowning person may live except on board this boat.
